Network Analysis, Inference, and Modeling NAIM 2019
ECAS – SFdS course
October 6-11, 2019 – La Villa Clythia – CAES du CNRS, Fréjus, France
Nowadays, networks are widely used to represent interactions between individuals or more generally between objects of interest. They are based on a simple formalism and yet capable of modeling complex systems. For the last 15 years, the rise of social network platforms such as Facebook and Twitter has given rise to many algorithms to automatically extract relevant features from the data.
This course, taught in English, presents many aspects of network analysis from the construction of networks or graphs to their analysis with the most recent and advanced statistical methods. Both theoretical and methodological aspects will be addressed, as well as applied and practical aspects. The applications presented will be mainly in biology and social sciences.
